Credit and Finance for MSMEs: Former Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan highlighting the government’s Mudra scheme of giving unsecured loans to small businesses and entrepreneurs said that such loans to MSMEs are not turning out well.

The commerce and industry ministry has advised e-commerce companies to gradually slash single-use plastic in packaging of products being sold through their platforms, in line with the government's commitment to reduce use of such material, an official said.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has started sending notices to exporters after the Supreme Court stayed the Gujarat High Court order on availing an export-intensive scheme. The notices were issued to exporters in Mumbai, and Kolkata among other places in the country, said businesses and experts.

Mumbai: The country’s primary anti-smuggling intelligence agency has begun resending notices to exporters for availing GST exemptions where exports preceded imports.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has called a meeting of all state-run bank chiefs on October 15, a day after finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to meet them to take stock of credit growth in the economy.
