NEW DELHI: India’s goods and services tax collections rose 6% to Rs 1.03 lakh crore in November, reversing two months of decline, with experts attributing the increase to festive shopping and better compliance.

MUMBAI: Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday expressed hope that by 2024, India would become $ 5 trillion economy and be placed among the top five global economies.

NEW DELHI: Buoyed by festival demand and better compliance, goods and services tax (GST) collections rose 6% in November to top Rs 1.03 lakh crore — the highest since April. Monthly collections in November were the third highest since the transition to the new indirect tax regime in July 2017.

New Delhi: GST revenue collection crossed the Rs 1 lakh crore-mark after a gap of three months in November with the revenue growing by 6 percent to Rs 1.03 lakh crore in the month. The GST collection was Rs 95,380 crore in October while it was Rs 97,637 crore November 2018.

India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth touched six-year low of 4.5 per cent in July-September 2019, according to official data.
