The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ( CBIC ) has again extended the Due Date for furnishing GST Annual Return and Reconciliation Statement (GSTR-9 / 9A and GSTR-9C) for FY 2017-18 for Group The CBIC said that, Considering the difficulties being faced by taxpayers in filing GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for FY 2017-18 it has been decided to extend the due dates in a staggered manner for different groups of States to 5th and 7th February 2020.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur made the announcement in Lok Sabha after TRS MPs along with MPs from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh raised the issue complaining that their respective States were not getting their due share of GST and IGST.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said in Lok Sabha that GST (Compensation to States) Act, 2017 provides for compensation to States/UTs on account of revenue loss due to implementation of GST on a bi-monthly basis.
