CHENNAI: The Ministry of Defence plans to set up 6-8 product testing facilities to enable the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) to test their products for defence supplies, said a senior official here.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananada Sonowal on Friday said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has a crucial role to play in making India a five trillion dollar economy by 2024.
The Hindu has accessed a presentation made by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant to the Standing Committee on Finance; 12.4% growth needed to achieve the figure, Mr. Kant said.
Mumbai: Recent Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) data has found the textile and sugar industries in the state as most polluting. More than half of the textile industries analysed have got a rating of three stars or below (polluting to heavily polluting).
The total amount of foreign direct investment (FDI) capital invested into Vietnam’s textile, dyeing, and garment industry has crossed $19 billion during the last 30 years involving 1,383 projects, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association. South Korea led the countries with a registered capital of $4,798 billion invested in 464 projects.
Commenting on the series of announcements made by the government following the cabinet meeting recently, industry body FICCI President Sandip Somany welcomed the moves.
