Tiruppur, Sept 6 (KNN) Knitwear units in the city have approached the Central government requesting them to hasten up the reimbursement of the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (ROSCTL) to get rid of issues like COVID-19, non-availability of containers and ships to export the finished products and the economic slowdown.
Tiruppur, India’s knitwear city is all set to emerge as the fashion capital in gents’ wear. A mega programme has been launched by Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (the collective of all knitwear manufacturers in the district) in collaboration with the Union Government to train and professionalise youngsters hitherto working as labourers in knitwear units.
The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association will train 16,000 workers under the Samarth (Scheme For Capacity Building in Textile Sector) programme in the garment units in Tiruppur in two years.
Coimbatore: “Setting up of new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP) with latest technologies at Erode and Namakkal will go a long way for the growth of the textile industry in Tamil Nadu,” said Raja M Shanmugham, president of Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA).
The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) and The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) have welcomed the ‘pragmatic’ budget presented by Tamil Nadu today. The two associations have hailed the state’s decision to improve infrastructure to promote technical textiles in the state and the announcement of creating a separate department for textiles.
