The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association will train 16,000 workers under the Samarth (Scheme For Capacity Building in Textile Sector) programme in the garment units in Tiruppur in two years.

Coimbatore: Tirupur Exporters’ Association welcomed the government’s announcement to form a separate department for textiles, stating it would help focus more on the sector’s overall growth.

Coimbatore: “Setting up of new Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP) with latest technologies at Erode and Namakkal will go a long way for the growth of the textile industry in Tamil Nadu,” said Raja M Shanmugham, president of Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA).

The State government wil expedite works for Integrated Textile Parks in Tiruppur, Kancheepuram, and Erode.

Due to shortage of sea containers, exporters opt for the costlier mode to move consignments.

The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) and The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) have welcomed the ‘pragmatic’ budget presented by Tamil Nadu today. The two associations have hailed the state’s decision to improve infrastructure to promote technical textiles in the state and the announcement of creating a separate department for textiles.
