A meeting has been organised at the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) as initiated by president K.M. Subramanian with a view to increasing the domestic production and marketing of knitwear garments. TEA domestic sub-committee chairman Prem Aggarwal was present at this meeting along with expert and domestic manufacturers.

The General Secretary of TEA N. Thirukkumaran, Joint Secretary Kumar Duraiswamy, Chairman, Man Made Fibre Sub-Committee Arun Ramasamy, Vice Chairman A. Sunilkumar, executive committee members of the association, special invitees, founder of Dixcy brand Prem Shikka, Managing Director of Lux Industries, Rahul Todi, General Secretary, Domestic Knitwear Manufacturers Association, Ravichandran, M. Manikandan of Ohms Fusion Knitwear and many more domestic knitwear manufacturers also participated in the event.

Kumar Duraiswamy, in his welcome address said that the data of Tirupur’s domestic knitwear production of Rs. 25,000 crore was a bit too low and in reality it was much more.

Thirukkumaran in his speech said that India was the fastest growing economy and per capita income of Indians has increased tremendously. This is the most opportune time for exporters to market their products in the Indian market.

Prem Aggarwal talked about the intricacies of the Indian apparel market and the importance of knowing the market is of paramount importance domestically.

Ravichandran, while speaking, requested the cooperation of TEA to help domestic manufacturers. A. Sunilkumar compared the growth of the Indian domestic market in the last 5 years and for the next 5 years with detailed data. He also claimed that domestic manufacturers have a bright future ahead.
