New Delhi, July 13 (KNN) The central government has appointed 29 non-official members in the Board of Trade from different sectors.

It comprises of chiefs from trade and industry associations such as Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA).

FISME’s central executive committee Raja M Shanmugham, CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal, India Cellular & Electronics Association Chairman Pankaj Mahindroo and Laghu Udyog Bharati Executive Member Om Prakash Mittal.

It also includes Tata Consultancy Services CEO and MD Rajesh Gopinathan, KKR India Chairman Sanjay Nayyar and GCMMF (Amul) Managing Director RS SodhI, as per a gazette notification by the Commerce & Industry Ministry.

According to the notification the terms of reference for the new non-official members include providing a platform to States and Union Territories for articulating State-oriented perspectives on trade policy.

The members are also to act as facilitators in implementation of District Export Hub events including sensitisation workshops, identification and promotion of identified products.

They will advise the government on policy measures for preparation and implementation of both short and long term plans for increasing exports, the notification added.

The non-officials members will also review export performance of various sectors, identify constraints and suggest industry specific measures to optimize export earnings.
