Ludhiana, Members of the Knitwear and Textile Club, including Mridula Jain, chairperson of Shawl Club, and Charanjiv Singh, general secretary of the Knitwear and Textile Club, met Union Minister Smriti Irani and raised various issues related to the industry, at Delhi today.

The members said, “There should be uniform GST on all products. Refunds of the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) are pending for long, to make content label mandatory as lot of misdeclaration was happening in the market.”

The members also brought to Irani’s notice that export incentives such as MIES should be started again because of global slowdown. Besides, the government had still not revised the MSME definition. The members hoped that these issues will be addressed by the government.
