Nagpur: Mukul Patil, the Joint Commissioner of Central GST here, said that GST Council is continuously striving to make compliances easier for tax payers.
He said that the government is considering every suggestion given by the trade and industry, and acting on it and also changing the law provisions time to time for the benefit of trade and industry. He was speaking at a meet organized by the Nagpur branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
The ICAI press release said the officer asked chartered accountants to advice their clients to file GST returns in time. He also spoke about the changing role of the department in the new tax regime. “The department has directorate of tax payer’s services and officers have been appointed to serve the taxpayers better and to solve their problems,” he said
Patil also spoke about the new GST forms and asked the tax payers to also suggest any changes if needed. The officer appealed the audience to avail the benefit of Sabka Vishwas (legacy) dispute scheme available up to December 31, said the press release.
