KARACHI: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on Thursday said that a commerce policy for five years will be announced by the government in coming days, ARY News reported.
Addressing the seminar on Pak-China Free Trade Agreement here, Dawood said that the work to devise a textile policy was also in progress.
Prime Minister’s Adviser said that now tractors being completely manufactured in Pakistan and the time has ripe for exporting tractors from the country.
He said that an unnecessary subsidy that was being given in decades of 70s and 80s could not be offered now.
Talking on relations with China, the adviser said that the country has always extended cooperation to Pakistan, in whatever sector we demanded of them.
He urged for the necessity of working with sincerity. He also emphasized for fixing the right direction of the economy adding that now trade could not be run in a conventional manner.
A delegation of businessmen also held meeting with the adviser and presented recommendations with regard to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming visit of China.
The delegation will also be accompanied with the prime minister in his visit to China on April 25.
