Tirupur: Four people, including two owners of a knitwear unit, were booked after they utilized logo of another knitwear company in the garments manufactured in their company in the city.

L Senthil Kumar, 33, owns knitwear unit at Vinayagapuram near Rayapuram in the city. He has obtained trademark for logo ‘Kings way by rock bell’ and printed it in t-shirts and marketed and exported them, a police officer said.

Senthil learned that some people have been illegally using his logo in the garments. The garments were sold in the domestic market and exported as well.

Police investigation revealed that V Gobalakrishnan, 50, of Eetiveerampalayam, and Ravikanth Sharma, of 15 Velampalayam, were running a knitwear unit at Gandhi Nagar in the city.

Gobalakrishnan and Ravikanth had used the logo of Senthil and exported the garments to African countries. Based on complaint from Senthil, the Anupparpalayam police booked both along with Ravikanth’s sons- Aakash Bharathwaj and Abhishek Bharathway-under section 420 of IPC and Trademark Act, 1999.
