Khanna, August 22, Taking into consideration the growing importance of entrepreneurs and their contribution in the progress of the nation, Desh Bhagat University had organised a seminar on the ‘Role of academia in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem for employment generation’.

The seminar was held under the aegis of innovation and entrepreneurship campus of the university, in collaboration with Swadeshi Jagran Manch. Leaders from academia and industry participated in the seminar. Experts shared their wisdom and motivated students towards entrepreneurial ventures.

The programme was inaugurated by Zora Singh, Chancellor of the university, and Satish Kumar, organizing secretary, Swadeshi Jagran Manch. Zora Singh said the university would provide every facility to enhance its entrepreneurial environment. The seminar witnessed thought- stirring sessions, during which leaders tried to enthuse students to develop entrepreneurial zeal. Among the experts, RK Mittal, Vice-Chancellor, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University and Gautam Buddha University; Ashok Kumar Goyal, director, Soft Prodigy; Charanjeev Singh, general secretary, Knitwear Club, Ludhiana; Anuj Aggarwal, CEO, Altruist Technology Private Limited; and Sameer Sharma, eminent entrepreneur and founder of Shoutlo and Uengage.

Satish Kumar underscored the Swadeshi element in the manufacturing process as he brought up the dependency on foreign imports in many sectors such as solar, mobiles, automobiles, to name a few. Many times, Indian companies end up assembling parts of manufactured goods across the globe. He said the Japanese hardly endorsed any foreign brands, irrespective of the costs.
