THE Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation is expanding incubation hubs to equip youths with the necessary life skills.

The ministry’s principal corporate and external affairs officer Mr Ranson Madzamba said they established a clothing and textile hub in Mutare and they were keen to expand it as well as engage youths in agriculture activities.

“We are establishing some incubation hubs in every province. We established a clothing and textile hub in Manicaland, which is progressing well and we also want to engage youths in agriculture projects, like dairy farming and horticulture.

“Recently the deputy minister, permanent secretary and all the ministry directors toured one of our new vegetable and fruits incubation hub in Mutoko.

“Some of the already established incubation hubs include the cattle and goat breeding hubs in Matebelaland. We have a dairy farming incubation hub at Kaguvi VTC that is performing well. The same goes for the cosmetology hub in Bulawayo that is assisting youths with necessary life skills,” said Mr Madzamba.

Mr Madzamba also said this incubation hubs were in line with the country’s vision 2030 and good for the economic being of the country. He indicated that the hubs were indeed providing training for the youths in various sectors but mostly in farming considering that our country is agro based. “This is in line with the country vision 2030 and it will also capacitate youths. We have also an auto mobile incubation hub in Zvishavane that is also doing well and thousands of trained youths are now starting their own enterprises,” he said.
